Networking question!?

I have all linksys devices for networking my computers around the house to the main computer with the router, %26amp; i just purchased a belkin usb something or other to connect one computer upstairs wirelessly to the main computer, but i can't seem to find a network connection once i installled the belkin usb thing. how can i find it?

Networking question!?
Is your linksys router capable of doing wireless?

If so log in to the router setup and ensure it is enabled.

Is the belkin adapter installed properly, using the cd that came with it or through windows?

Good Luck
Reply:You won't want to hear this, but here goes. I have never been able to make any OEM's stuff work with a different OEM's stuff. The Belkin is not one of my favorite platforms either. I have a Belkin bluetooth device that has never worked on any operating system with any device. Good luck with that.
Reply:Do you have a wireless router or access point? If not you won't connect.
Reply:Did you buy a wireless router?

If so, look under 'My Network Places' in Windows, and click on the side under 'Network connections'

When you find the one that's the Belkin USB you just installed that says wireless ... open that connection and make sure it finds the name of your network ... which is typically the manufacturer of your router if you haven't changed it
Reply:hi,

there must and netw setting conflict. most router will give ip address automatically, and it may cause the trouble when u wanna connect to another netw.

form start, click run, type cmd hit enter

type ipconfig /all in the command prompt and see what u got
