I am new to networking and have recently purchased a laptop. My desktop PC is connected to ADSL2 via a 2WIRE gateway. I have both the laptop connected via "ethernet" and desktop via "USB" at the same time. this does work very efficiently but am tied of the laptop and the PC taking up desk space. i would like to be able to hook my laptop to the net via wireless networking through my desktop. (i do not want it on a separate account) as stated i am new to networking and hope someone can help me out with a run down on how to set this up. Oh, my laptop has built in HP wireless assistant.

Basically if you want to be portable with the laptop you will need to buy a wireless router and connect it to the modem.
