Networking a windows ME system with a Vista system.?
Buy a CROSSOVER CABLE, as opposed to a standard Ethernet cable. They look the same but are not wired the same inside the sheathing. Plug it between the two computers in the (8-wire) NIC RJ-45 jacks. The two Windows operating system should see each other immediately. You might still need to configure some settings on one or both machines or in the game programs.
If the machines are farther apart, you can use standard cables plugged into a hub, switch, or router LAN jacks.
