Is networking jobs good or software jobs?

I wanted to choose carrer in networking or sofware ..... but i m not sure ..... i currently ve MCSE certification


I m really sucked up.... as i want 2 earn good but i ve been telling tht networking doesnot give much money as the sofware gives so please help me all of u


I wanna go abroad 4 jobs but dont know which field ll give me first opportunity 2 do so ...... also i want handsome salary


My frnds oer here who r been taken by on campus by different companies get good salary upto 3lac per annum ... but i heard tht networking or sys admin or security admin salaries r much less nd they dont ve good raises as in sofware





One of my frnd says sofware is good as it ll make me rich but it ll also give lot of stress 2 me on other hand networking ll give me lots of time 2 be wid my family nd ve good health in software they ve 2 sit on PC nd then they get up bulky





I m planning for some certs if i m going 2 networking like CCNA, RHCE, Security+, cisco checkpoint

Is networking jobs good or software jobs?
Both jobs are god, they get you job and salary also. But my basic question is which job you prefers, in which you have more expertise, and feel comfortable, and enjoy the job ? select that one. Monetary benefits is secondary . Of course, you need money. But in my opinion job satisfaction is more important. You may get a package of 5 lac / year, but if you find later, the job you selected is not the one what exactly one you wanted, then ? You may get fat package in software, but have you verified how much it spoils your health. Think again, consult other experienced people, then decide. Good luck.

Reply:if u ask me i'll prefer networking coz a less number of peoplw r interested in networking so, you will get a job in networking easily then in programming side, also you dont need to think a lot, stress ur mind in networking, than programming. pay is also high 4 networking
Reply:Software is a good job networking is big job but money is nearly same. but software is batter and more money.


there is so many CCNA certified now if you want to do CCNP or CCIE then it is very good other wise it just spending money and time. there is a good future and good money. or do cisco VOIP.
Reply:Its better to go for a networkin job only because if do this certifications you will get a job very soon and if the software you have to learn the latest languages every days so in my opinon network jobs are better.
Reply:depending on your interest. i would recommend networking. take ccna, then ccnp, then ccie. don't stop, sit and relax after ccna. go further and u will be collecting fat pay check.
Reply:You're question is a good one but has no real answer it boils down to personal choice that's it, both jobs are very fulfilling but you need to specialize to get were the real money is so think of it like this what part of networking don't you like and should you have any software experience what did you not like then weigh them up. Also Networking in the Carrier field pays very well that might be a long term option. As for salary increases that's difficult depends on the country the company and your personal contribution as this is how you are rated...





I am in the networking field and love it especially now that we have the convergence with MPLS networks coming of age, clearly you need to evaluate your likes and dislikes and take ti from there. Best of Luck and Success to you !!!!
