Networking?

give the impart of local area networks(LAN) on the development of information and communication technology(ICT)

Networking?
Looks like you have had a week on this so I’ll try to give you a little help with your paper.

The importance of Local Area Networks on the development of Information and Communications Technology is evident in the decentralization of information use.

The LAN allows database access to be available to the frontline workforce. This allows upper management to have a better feel for what is actually happening rather than the old days of centralized data collection that would have monthly reports that were a couple of weeks old by the time they got them. For the front line people it means that they can check what is in stock or the status of a customers account as needed.

From a hard ware point of view the LAN allows the information to be delivered throughout the business. No longer is there a need to order reports from the computer room. Executives can now look at reports online from anywhere. They can print out sensitive documents at their own desks rather than rely on lower paid eyes to deliver them. This results in lower cost printers and computers over the big mammoths that used to be affordable to only the richest of companies.
Reply:One of the impacts is people getting on the internet and asking others to do their homework. (It keeps them from learning anything.)
