Let's say, I have been borrowing my companies ethernet cable to browse the internet (via hooking directly to my laptop). They caught on. I purchased a simple ethernet router and hooked up router back to the company desktop and my laptop. Will the company be able to tell that there is a router hooked-up?
Networking?
yes they will. Their IT support should notice it. if they have their network equipment connected correctly, you would not be able to connect to the internet to begin with.
Reply:Yes they will, and the use of a second router could cause conflicts which disrupt the network. Most of my clients carry an instant dismissal policy for this kind of interference with THEIR network.
