Networking?

i have two cpus running xp and i can connect to one for file and printer sharring and i can find the other cpu on the other one but it says i dont have permisson to access the file

Networking?
Open My Network Places

Click - setup home or small office network - on the left bar under network tasks.

Click Next and Walk through that wizard

click ignore disconnected hardware if you have too

You can basiclly accept the defaults but make sure they are both in the same workgroup.

Reboot PC

Run the Wizard on the other computer and make sure you turn on file and print sharing when prompted in the wizard.

Hope it helps!!
Reply:you need to turn on file sharing on the other computers drives
Reply:Make sure guest access is enabled on the first pc.
Reply:That usually means that the network settings on the two PCs are not identical. Rerun the network wizard on the working computer. At one point you can choose to save those settings for use on the other computer. Save them to a floppy or memory stick. Then take it to the second computer and use it to set up the same configuration on the second computer.
