Networking?

I have conected my computer to my network though a domain. If i where to go some where else and connect my computer to my friends internet, would i still be able to acces my network?...and is there any way i can access my network though a dail up connection??

Networking?
Sorry, your question is undecipherable.
Reply:You would need to Set up a VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection via your computer to your network.....(Go to Network Connections and Add a new Connection....choose the VPN settings...enter the domain/username/password....)

This may also means you need to configure your network to receive such a connection if the above does not go through smoothly (Router settings...etc..)

If you have Windows XP Media Center or Professional....you can set your machine active for Remote Desktop Access....

Thats if you want to access any machine in your local network remotely.....
Reply:hi,

it's all on domain membership setting.

if your friend network is just "peer to peer" then you do NOT need to change anything. but if your friend network got a domain server and join to it, then you have to restore the membership domain setting to it's previous value and it need domain administrator password.

you will always can access the network, but if your network got a domain server you have to join to it. try ping to another computer as a proof.

dialup?

yup, of course. microsoft called as RAS, there is an option when in login dialog. you can select it.
