Networking?

I am using two computers to try to setup a network. On computer A I have two NICs (Network Interface Card) One that goes to a hub that a wireless router connects into, The other into the router. Computer B has one NIC that connects to the router. The router does not have very good port forwarding so I have to connect to the hub on my gaming computer to download and play games on steam and other stuff. I got the second NIC card on my wifi router to setup a network between the two. I need help on saying this card can't go to the internet but it can connect to the router's network as well as setup the network. I have already tried the setup network wizard with winxp (both computers use winxp) and on computer A it always comes up with you do not have the access to connect to the network please contact the adminstrator.

Networking?
It sounds like you have too many things connected. If you have a wireless router, then you just need wireless adapters for each computer. If the router also has multiple Ethernet ports you could just connect each computer with Ethernet cables instead of wireless adapters.

My setup: 3 desktops, 2 laptops

Router: Motorola Wireless w/cable modem %26amp; 4 Ethernet ports

2 laptops connect wirelessly %26amp; each desktop has an Ethernet cable from the NIC to the router.

I ran the Network Setup Wizard on each computer, selecting the same options on each on. (i.e.- Connects directly to the internet and "Enable File %26amp; Print sharing")

The most important part is that each computer must have a unique name, but the network name must be exactly the same ("MSHome"). If the computers have Antivirus %26amp; Firewall software like McAfee or Norton, then it could be a conflict with the Windows Firewall. Go to 'Network Connections' on each computer %26amp; see if there's a lock on the Network Connection. If there is, right-click-%26gt;Properties-%26gt;Advanced/Securi... to locate the Windows Firewall settings to turn the Windows Firewall off.
